Camps

Green Ranger Camps teach students, from 6-17 years old, and adults, over 17 years old, environmental and wildlife conservation concepts & issues in a natural setting while Learning by Doing and Playing activities. As a result they increase their natural attraction to wildlife and Nature to come to love Nature, while understanding more about the complex balance of interactions that occur between all life in a natural setting.

The students also are made aware of the effect that human activities can have on the natural balance of nature. Also they are engaged in leadership and team building activities while learning the environmental ideas. A highlight of the camp is the Green Ranger evening, with the teams competing in a challenge to see who has learned the most during the camp, followed by performances by the teams and camp staff.

At the end of the 3 days 2 nights camp, the student discuss what they can do when they go back to school and community to help the environment. Most of camps spend the first day in Bukit Merah to see and learn about the Orang Utan and see the animals in Eco-Park.

A half a day is spent watching environmental movies on the bus ride to Pulau Banding, in the mountains near Gerik. The rest of the time is spent in Sg.Enam jungle valley and in Tg. Satu, a mock up Orang Utan village on Pulau Banding.

They finally visit the Rainforest Research Center to see what the scientists are doing to help understand and protect the living forest.

With the love and understanding of Nature gained from attending this camp, the participants can become leaders, advocates & champions for protecting and wisely using natural resources in school and in the community.
